The Charity owns, maintains and manages - The Saltwood Village Hall for the benefit of the residents of Saltwood and surrounding areas - The Saltwood Almshouses in the prevention or relief of poverty by providing affordable housing Any funds collected from renting Hall and weekly maintenance contributions from Almshouse residents go towards the maintenance improvement of properties accordingly

Charitable objects
FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT: I) TO FURTHER OR BENEFIT THE RESIDENTS OF SALTWOOD AND THE SURROUNDING AREA WITHOUT DISTINCTION OF SEX, SEXUAL ORIENTATION, RACE OR OF POLITICAL, RELIGIOUS OR OTHER OPINIONS BY ASSOCIATING TOGETHER THE SAID RESIDENTS AND THE LOCAL AUTHORITIES, VOLUNTARY AND OTHER ORGANISATIONS IN A COMMON EFFORT TO ADVANCE EDUCATION AND TO PROVIDE FACILITIES IN THE INTERESTS OF SOCIAL WELFARE FOR RECREATION AND LEISURE TIME OCCUPATION WITH THE OBJECTIVE OF IMPROVING THE CONDITIONS OF LIFE FOR THE RESIDENTS. IN FURTHERANCE OF THE ABOVE OBJECTS BUT NOT OTHERWISE, THE TRUSTEES SHALL HAVE POWER TO MAINTAIN A VILLAGE HALL (AND TO MAINTAIN OR MANAGE OR CO-OPERATE WITH ANY STATUTORY AUTHORITY IN THE MAINTENANCE AND MANAGEMENT OF THE FACILITY) FOR ACTIVITIES PROMOTED BY THE CHARITY IN FURTHERANCE OF THE ABOVE OBJECTS. II) THE PREVENTION OR RELIEF OF POVERTY BY PROVIDING SOCIAL HOUSING, IN THE FORM OF ALMSHOUSE ACCOMMODATION, FOR PERSONS WHO HAVE RESIDED IN THE DISTRICT OF FOLKESTONE AND HYTHE FOR NOT LESS THAN TEN YEARS PRECEDING THEIR APPLICATION FOR RESIDENCE AND WHO, FROM AGE, ILL-HEALTH OR ACCIDENT ARE UNABLE TO MAINTAIN THEMSELVES BY THEIR OWN EXERTIONS, WITH A PREFERENCE IN THE FIRST INSTANCE FOR PERSONS BORN IN THE CIVIL PARISH OF SALTWOOD, SECONDLY FOR THOSE WITH A PERSONAL CONNECTION TO SALTWOOD AND THIRDLY FOR THOSE PERSONS WHO BEING OTHERWISE QUALIFIED AS AFORESAID WHO SHALL HAVE BECOME REDUCED TO MISFORTUNE FROM BETTER CIRCUMSTANCES. III) SUCH CHARITABLE PURPOSES FOR THE BENEFIT OF RESIDENTS OF THE ALMSHOUSES AS THE TRUSTEES MAY FROM TIME TO TIME DECIDE.
