THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE: (1)TO PROMOTE THE BENEFIT OF THE INHABITANTS OF DARWEN AND THE SURROUNDING AREA OF BLACKBURN, LANCASHIRE BY ASSOCIATING THE INHABITANTS AND OTHER ORGANISATIONS IN A COMMON EFFORT TO ADVANCE EDUCATION AND TO PROVIDE FACILITIES IN THE INTERESTS OF SOCIAL WELFARE FOR RECREATION AND LEISURE TIME OCCUPATION IN ORDER TO IMPROVE THEIR CONDITIONS OF LIFE. (2)TO ESTABLISH A COMMUNITY CENTRE AND TO MAINTAIN AND MANAGE IT IN FURTHERANCE OF THESE OBJECTS.
