Charitable objects
THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE: 1. TO PROMOTE THE CONSERVATION, PROTECTION AND IMPROVEMENT OF OLD PARK AND CHEQUERS WOOD, CANTERBURY, KENT FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC, IN PARTICULAR BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY BY: (A) PRESERVING AND PROTECTING THE FLORA AND FAUNA OF OLD PARK AND CHEQUERS WOOD AND TO PROMOTE RESEARCH INTO THE WILDLIFE OF THE AREA AND PUBLISHING OR OTHERWISE DISSEMINATING THE USEFUL RESULTS OF SUCH RESEARCH. (B) WORKING WITH LANDOWNERS AND OTHER PARTNERS TO CONSERVE AND MANAGE THE RARE HABITATS OF THE AREA, PARTICULARLY THE ACID GRASSLAND, ALDER CARR AND ANCIENT WOODLAND ON THE SITE OF SPECIAL SCIENTIFIC INTEREST, AND TO PROTECT THE SITES OF ARCHAEOLOGICAL IMPORTANCE. 2. TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC IN THE CONSERVATION AND PROTECTION OF WILDLIFE, FLORA AND FAUNA IN THE PARK AND WOOD BY RAISING PUBLIC AWARENESS OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPORTANCE OF THE AREA AND TO ENCOURAGE THE ACTIVE INVOLVEMENT OF LOCAL RESIDENTS AND COMMUNITY ORGANISATIONS. 3. TO PROVIDE OR ASSIST IN THE PROVISION OF FACILITIES IN THE INTERESTS OF SOCIAL WELFARE FOR RECREATION OR OTHER LEISURE TIME OCCUPATION OF INDIVIDUALS WHO HAVE NEED OF SUCH FACILITIES BY REASON OF THEIR YOUTH, AGE, INFIRMITY OR DISABILITY, FINANCIAL HARDSHIP OR SOCIAL CIRCUMSTANCES WITH THE OBJECT OF IMPROVING THEIR CONDITIONS OF LIFE.
