Charitable objects
1. THE OBJECT OF THE SOCIETY SHALL BE TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF ITS MEMBERS AND OF THE GENERAL PUBLIC IN THE WORKS OF SIR JOHN BETJEMAN BY PROMOTING THE STUDY, AWARENESS AND ENJOYMENT OF HIS LIFE, WORK AND INFLUENCE. 2. IN FURTHERANCE OF THIS OBJECT, BUT NOT OTHERWISE, THE SOCIETY MAY: A. PUBLISH, OR ARRANGE TO BE PUBLISHED, BOOKS, PAMPHLETS OR OTHER RELEVANT MATERIAL FOR WHICH A SUITABLE CHARGE MAY BE MADE. B. ORGANISE, OR ARRANGE TO BE ORGANISED, MEETINGS, LECTURES, EXHIBITIONS, SEMINARS AND SOCIAL OCCASIONS FOR WHICH A SUITABLE CHARGE MAY BE MADE. C. RAISE FUNDS, ACCEPT GIFTS, RECEIVE CONTRIBUTIONS AND PROFIT FROM THE SALE OF BETJEMAN-RELATED ITEMS. D. PROMOTE OR CARRY OUT RESEARCH INTO THE LIFE AND WORKS OF BETJEMAN. E. DONATE MONEY TO CHARITIES ASSOCIATED WITH BETJEMAN AND HIS INTERESTS. F. DO ALL OTHER LAWFUL THINGS TO FURTHER THE OBJECT AS STATED ABOVE.
