Odyssey Ensemble is an orchestra that uses music and creative arts to communicate real-life stories of asylum seekers and refugees and advocate for their dignity to be upheld. Through interdisciplinary collaborative performances, we hope to harness the power of music to promote respect for the human dignity and human rights of asylum seekers and refugees by members of the public and policymakers.

Charitable objects
(A) TO PROMOTE HUMAN RIGHTS (AS SET OUT IN THE UNIVERSAL DECLARATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS AND SUBSEQUENT UNITED NATIONS CONVENTIONS AND DECLARATIONS) OF ASYLUM SEEKERS AND REFUGEES THROUGHOUT THE WORLD THROUGH THE MEDIUM OF MUSIC AND CREATIVE ARTS BY: (I) RAISING AWARENESS OF HUMAN RIGHTS ISSUES; (II) PROMOTING PUBLIC SUPPORT FOR HUMAN RIGHTS; AND (III) PROMOTING RESPECT FOR HUMAN RIGHTS AMONG INDIVIDUALS AND CORPORATIONS. IN FURTHERANCE OF THIS OBJECT BUT NOT OTHERWISE, THE TRUSTEES SHALL HAVE POWER TO ENGAGE IN POLITICAL ACTIVITY PROVIDED THAT THE TRUSTEES ARE SATISFIED THAT THE PROPOSED ACTIVITIES WILL FURTHER THE PURPOSES OF THE CIO TO AN EXTENT JUSTIFIED BY THE RESOURCES COMMITTED AND THE ACTIVITY IS NOT THE DOMINANT MEANS BY WHICH THE CIO CARRIES OUT ITS OBJECTS. (B) THE ADVANCEMENT OF THE ARTS THROUGH PROVIDING A PLATFORM FOR AND ENABLING ASYLUM SEEKERS AND REFUGEES IN THE UNITED KINGDOM TO TELL THEIR STORIES THROUGH MUSIC IN CONJUNCTION WITH OTHER CREATIVE ARTS INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, LITERATURE, DANCE, DRAMA, AND THE VISUAL ARTS. (C) THE ADVANCEMENT OF EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC IN GENERAL AND TO RAISE AWARENESS ABOUT ASYLUM SEEKERS AND REFUGEES, THROUGH CONVEYING STORIES AND ACCURATE INFORMATION RELATING TO FORCED MIGRATION, PRIMARILY IN PUBLIC EVENTS INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, CONCERTS, RECITALS, MUSIC WORKSHOPS, OPEN REHEARSALS, LECTURES, AND DISCUSSION FORUMS.
