Charitable objects
THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE, FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC, TO PROMOTE THE SPIRITUAL, MORAL, MENTAL AND PHYSICAL HEALTH AND WELFARE OF ALL SEAFARERS AND THEIR FAMILIES, IN PARTICULAR, BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY BY: (A) VISITING SEAFARERS ON BOARD OF SHIPS, PROVIDING PASTORAL AND SPIRITUAL CARE OR PSYCHOSOCIAL EMERGENCY CARE AND OTHER FORMS OF SOCIAL, PRACTICAL AND LOGISTICAL SUPPORT; (B) THE RELIEF OF SEAFARERS WHO ARE IN NEED BY REASON OF FINANCIAL HARDSHIP, AGE, ILLHEALTH OR DISABILITY; AND (C) THE ADVANCEMENT OF THE CHRISTIAN RELIGION, BASED ON THE VALUES OF THE LUTHERAN, REFORMED AND UNITED PROTESTANT CHRISTIAN CHURCH.
