THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE TO FOSTER AND ENCOURAGE AMONGST THE PEOPLE OF THE HISTORIC COUNTY OF BRECKNOCKSHIRE AN INTEREST IN THE ARCHAEOLOGY, HISTORY, GEOLOGY, NATURAL HISTORY, ARTS AND LITERATURE OF WALES AND THE MARCHES, ESPECIALLY BRECKNOCKSHIRE, AND FOR THAT PURPOSE: (1) TO ASSIST, AS IT CAN, THE FURTHER DEVELOPMENT OF THE BRECKNOCK MUSEUM AND ART GALLERY; (2) TO ACQUIRE EXHIBITS OF HISTORICAL OR ANY SPECIAL INTEREST AND OFFER SUCH MATERIAL TO THE BRECKNOCK MUSEUM AND ART GALLERY ON AGREED TERMS; (3) TO PUBLISH MATERIAL RELATING TO THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO; (4) TO ARRANGE LECTURES, MEETINGS, EXHIBITIONS AND OTHER EVENTS, A CALENDAR OF WHICH SHALL BE AGREED BY THE CIO AND CIRCULATED TO MEMBERS; AND (5) TO ASSIST FINANCIALLY OR OTHERWISE IN THE PRESERVATION OF SITES OF HISTORIC IMPORTANCE TO THE AREA OF BRECKNOCKSHIRE FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC.
