THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE, FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT, TO PRESERVE WHATEVER OF THE HISTORICAL, ARCHITECTURAL AND CONSTRUCTIONAL HERITAGE MAY EXIST IN OR AROUND THE REGION OF THE WEST MIDLANDS IN THE FORM OF BUILDINGS (INCLUDING ANY BUILDING AS DEFINED IN SECTION 336 OF THE TOWN AND COUNTRY PLANNING ACT 1990) OF PARTICULAR BEAUTY OR HISTORICAL, ARCHITECTURAL OR CONSTRUCTIONAL INTEREST, AND TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC IN THE AREA OF BENEFIT WITH REGARDS TO ARCHITECTS, ARCHITECTURAL MATTERS, HISTORIC BUILDINGS, STRUCTURES AND CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS.
