THE CHARITY'S OBJECTS ARE TO PROVIDE VOLUNTEER SEARCH AND RESCUE SERVICES TO PRESERVE LIFE AND RELIEVE SUFFERING AND DISTRESS TO PERSONS OR ANIMALS IN CAVES, OTHER UNDERGROUND LOCATIONS, INCLUDING NATURAL AND MAN-MADE, AND AT SURFACE, AND BY DELIVERING SUCH OTHER ACTIVITIES TO SUPPORT THE OTHER ABOVE PURPOSE. THE CIO OPERATES PRIMARILY WITHIN THE CEREMONIAL COUNTY OF DEVON, BUT MAY ALSO OPERATE IN THE WIDER SOUTH WEST ENGLAND REGION AND BEYOND WHEN REQUIRED
