THE OBJECTS OF THE CIO ARE TO RELIEVE THE NEEDS AND TO PRESERVE AND PROTECT THE HEALTH AND WELLBEING OF CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE WITH SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL NEEDS AND/OR DISABILITIES (SEND), AND THEIR PARENTS, CARERS AND FAMILIES BY PROVIDING RESPITE, SUPPORT, ADVICE AND ACTIVITIES, INCLUDING COMMUNITY-BASED SUPPORT, FAMILY SUPPORT SERVICES, VOLUNTEERS AND FACILITIES, AND, WHERE APPROPRIATE, SUPPORT FOR DISABLED CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE LIVING WITHIN THE FAMILY HOME.
