The Friends of the Commons augment the work of the Commons Conservators and the Ranger. We do this by members volunteering to work on the Commons. Typical activities include picking up litter, clearing scrub, enhancing public access and helping to promote ecological diversity. We also help to fund associated expenditure, particularly for items not normally covered in the Conservators' budget.

TO PROMOTE THE PROTECTION, CONSERVATION, MAINTENANCE AND ENHANCEMENT OF TUNBRIDGE WELLS AND RUSTHALL COMMONS (THE ‘COMMONS’) FOR THE ONGOING BENEFIT OF THE, INCLUDING ITS NATURAL ENVIRONMENT, LANDSCAPE, BIODIVERSITY, HISTORIC FEATURES AND TRADITIONAL CHARACTER. TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC IN THE CONSERVATION, PROTECTION AND IMPROVEMENT OF THE PHYSICAL AND NATURAL ENVIRONMENT OF TUNBRIDGE WELLS AND RUSTHALL COMMONS.
