Charitable objects
THE INCOME OF THE FOUNDATION SHALL BE APPLIED BY THE TRUSTEES IN APPRENTICING POOR CHILDREN RESIDENT IN THE COUNTY BOROUGH OF WAKEFIELD TO SOME USEFUL TRADE OR OCCUPATION : PROVIDED ALWAYS THAT IF, IN THE OPINION OF THE TRUSTEES, THE SAID INCOME CANNOT USEFULLY BE APPLIED IN APPRENTICING, THE TRUSTEES MAY APPLY THE SAME, OR ANY PART THEREOF, IN THE ASSISTANCE OF PERSONS RESIDENT IN SAID COUNTY BOROUGH, BEING AT THE TIME OF THE FIRST GRANT NOT MORE THAT 24 YEARS OF AGE (WITH POWER TO CONTINUE THE GRANTS TO 26 YEARS OF AGE WHERE A GRANT HAS BEEN MADE TO A PERSON AGED NOT OVER 24 YEARS AT THE TIME OF FIRST APPLICATION) WHO ARE IN NEED OF FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE AND ARE PREPARING FOR, ENTERING UPON, OR INTEND TO ENGAGE IN, ANY TRADE, PROFESSION, OCCUPATION OR SERVICE BY PROVIDING THEM WITH OUTFITS, OR BY THE PAYMENT OF FEES, TRAVELLING OR MAINTENANCE EXPENSES, OR BY OTHER MEANS FOR THEIR ADVANCEMENT IN LIFE OR TO ENABLE THEM TO EARN THEIR OWN LIVING, AS THE TRUSTEES THINK FIT.
