THE ADVANCEMENT OF EDUCATION BY ESTABLISHING AND MAINTAINING SCHOLARSHIPS, STUDENT AND TEACHER EXCHANGE SCHEMES, GRANTS, ALLOWANCES AND PRIZES TO BE AWARDED TO INDIVIDUALS RESIDENT IN BRITAIN AND NEW ZEALAND TO ENABLE THEM TO TRAVEL TO BRITAIN OR NEW ZEALAND (AS THE CASE MAY BE) TO STUDY OR TEACH THE WIDEST RANGE OF EDUCATIONAL DISCIPLINES OF THE HIGHEST CLASS AND IN PARTICULAR WITHOUT LIMITING THE GENERALITY OF THE FOREGOING TO STUDY AND TEACH THE ECONOMIC, SOCIAL, CULTURAL AND SCIENTIFIC HISTORY OF BRITAIN AND NEW ZEALAND, THE CHALLENGES AND OPPORTUNITIES BEFORE BOTH COUNTRIES AND ALL ASPECTS OF CONTEMPORARY BRITISH AND NEW ZEALAND LIFE AND THOUGHT; AND THE ADVANCEMENT OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BY PROMOTING THE EFFICIENCY AND EFFECTIVENESS OF CHARITIES AND THE EFFECTIVE USE OF CHARITABLE RESOURCES.
