The provision of facilities for people to hire for private or public functions, activities workshops etc. Current hirers include short mat bowls, craft, fitness training, Kent County Council Day Opportunities Service, The Arts Society Canterbury, Asbestos Cancer Support group, womens institute, organ club and whist. Monthly bingo and dances.

TO PROMOTE THE BENEFIT OF THE INHABITANTS OF THANINGTON AND NEIGHBOURHOOD WITHOUT DISTINCTION OF SEX, SEXUAL ORIENTATION, RACE OR OF POLITICAL, RELIGIOUS OR OTHER OPINIONS, BY ASSOCIATING TOGETHER THE SAID INHABITANTS & THE LOCAL AUTHORITIES, VOLUNTARY & OTHER ORGANISATIONS IN A COMMON EFFORT TO ADVANCE EDUCATION & TO PROVIDE FACILITIES IN THE INTERESTS OF SOCIAL WELFARE FOR RECREATION & LEISURE-TIME OCCUPATION WITH THE OBJECT OF IMPROVING THE CONDITIONS OF LIFE FOR THE SAID INHABITANTS.
