(1)TO STIMULATE PUBLIC INTEREST & CARE FOR THE LANDSCAPE, WILDLIFE, ARCHAEOLOGY, ARCHITECTURE & HISTORY OF THE AREA OF THE BENEFIT NAMELY EAST DORSET.(2)TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC IN ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT & HOW THE COMMUNITY CAN INFLUENCE THE DECISIONS THAT AFFECT IT & TO DEVELOP NEW APPROACHES TO ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION.(3)TO PROVIDE A FORUM FOR PEOPLE WITH SPECIAL ENVIRONMENTAL, ACADEMIC & TEACHING SKILLS TO SHARE THEIR INTEREST & EXPERIENCE WITH CHILDREN, VISITORS & THE LOCAL COMMUNITY.(4)TO COMPLEMENT THOSE ORGANISATIONS ALREADY INVOLVED IN INTERPRETATION & HELP RELATE THEIR ACTIVITIES WITHIN THEIR WIDER CONTEXT.(5)TO DEVELOP NEW APPROACHES TO ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION & INTERPRETATION.
