TO ADVANCE EDUCATION BY PROVIDING AND ADMINISTERING A BURSARY TO ASSIST A REFUGEE OR A NEEDY MEMBER OF THE PUBLIC TO STUDY ECONOMICS AT THE CITY OF LONDON POLYTECHNIC, OR TO FOLLOW ANY OTHER EDUCATIONAL COURSES AT THE POLYTECHNIC OR ELSEWHERE THAT IN THE OPINION OF THE TRUSTEES WILL ASSIST THE RECIPIENT IN CONTRIBUTING TO ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT. TO ADVANCE EDUCATION BY PURCHASING BOOKS ON POLITICAL ECONOMY FOR THE LIBRARY OF THE CITY OF LONDON POLYTECHNIC AND BY ARRANGING OCCASIONAL PUBLIC LECTURES OR WORKSHOPS ON ECONOMIC TOPICS.
