TO RELIEVE THE DISTRESS AND SUFFERING EXPERIENCED BY WOMEN WHO HAVE BEEN GRAVELY OR PERSISTENTLY MALTREATED BY THEIR HUSBANDS,COHABITTEES OR BY THE FATHERS OF THEIR CHILDREN AND ANY CHILDREN OF SUCH WOMEN IN PARTICULAR BY PROVIDING A CONFIDENTIAL COUNSELLING AND ADVICE SERVICE TO SUCH WOMEN AND THEIR CHILDREN AND BY ADVANCING EDUCATION IN THE COUNSELLING OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE VICTIMS.
