THE OBJECT OF THE COUNCIL SHALL BE TO ADVANCE THE MENTAL, PHYSICAL AND SPIRITUAL WELFARE OF YOUNG PEOPLE AT WORK, UNEMPLOYED OR IN FURTHER EDUCATION, BY PROMOTING THE SCHEME OF AWARDS AS ESTABLISHED BY THE DUKE OF EDINBURGH'S AWARD, A REGISTERED CHARITY (THE NATIONAL CHARITY).
