The Dyslexia Trust was established in 1994, to award bursaries to dyslexics who need help at Bristol Dyslexia Centre but are unable to attend for reasons of financial difficulty. The centre and trust aims to support people in the areas of Bristol, Gloucestershire and Somerset.

Charitable objects
1) TO RELIEVE THE SUFFERING OF PERSONS WHO ARE DYSLEXIC OR WHO SUFFER FROM ANY SIMILAR OR CONNECTED DISABILITY, IN PARTICULAR BY THE PROVISION OF FINANCIAL AND OTHER ASSISTANCE TO THOSE PERSONS WHO ARE IN NEED, HARDSHIP OR DISTRESS. 2) THE ADVANCEMENT OF EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC BY CARRYING OUT RESEARCH INTO DYSLEXIA AND THE NEEDS OF THOSE WHO SUFFER FROM IT AND PUBLISHING THE RESULTS THEREOF.
