TO PROMOTE ANY CHARITABLE PURPOSE FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE COMMUNITY IN THE CITY OF BATH AND SUCH OTHER SURROUNDING AREAS AS MAY FROM TIME TO TIME BE DETERMINED BY THE COMMITTEE (AS DEFINED IN CLAUSE 1 OF THE MEMORANDUM AND ARTICLES OF ASSOCIATION) IN PARTICULAR BY ASSISTING THE WORK OF STATUTORY AUTHORITIES AND VOLUNTARY ORGANISATIONS ENGAGED IN ADVANCING EDUCATION, PROTECTION OF HEALTH, OR REFIEF OF POVERTY, DISTRESS OR SICKNESS; AND (B) TO PROMOTE AND ORGANISE CO-OPERATION IN THE ACHIEVEMENT OF THE ABOVE PURPOSES AND TO THAT END BRING TOGETHER REPRESENTATIVES OF THE AUTHORITIES AND ORGANISATIONS ENGAGED IN THE FURTHERANCE OF THE ABOVE PURPOSES.
