(1)TO RELIEVE THE POVERTY, SICKNESS AND DISTRESS OF YOUNG CRIMINAL OFFENDERS IN PARTICULAR THOSE FROM ETHNIC MINORITY GROUPS BY THE PROVISION OF AN INFORMATION AND ADVICE SERVICE ON EDUCATION, EMPLOYMENT, HEALTH, HOUSING, LEGAL RIGHTS AND TRAINING ISSUES. (11)TO PROMOTE RESEARCH INTO THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM WITH REFERENCE TO ETHNIC MINORITY GROUPS AND TO PUBLISH THE USEFUL RESULTS OF SUCH RESEARCH.
