TO PROMOTE THE MORAL AND SOCIAL WELFARE AND THE PRESERVATION OF THE MENTAL AND PHYSICAL HEALTH OF PERSONS RESIDENT OR WORKING IN WEST SUSSEX AND HAMPSHIRE BY ESTABLISHING, MAINTAINING AND DEVELOPING A SERVICE IN THE AREA FOR THE GIVING TO SUCH PERSONS OF INDIVIDUAL COUNSELLING AND PRACTICAL ADVICE AND; 2. TO PROMOTE AND PROVIDE EDUCATION AND TRAINING FOR COUNSELLORS WORKING IN EITHER PROFESSIONAL OR VOLUNTARY SETTINGS, WHETHER FULL OR PART-TIME, WITH A VIEW TO RAISING THE STANDARDS OF COUNSELLING FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE COMMUNITY AND IN PARTICULAR OF THOSE WHO ARE THE RECIPIENTS OF COUSELLING
