Charitable objects

RELIEF OF POVERTY 26.1 SUBJECT TO THE PAYMENTS AFORESAID THE INCOME OF THE CHARITIES SHALL BE APPLIED BY THE TRUSTEES IN MAKING PAYMENTS FOR THE RELIEF OF POVERTY FOR THOSE RESIDENT IN THE PARISH OF LAUGHTON AND THOSE WHO HAVE RECENTLY BEEN RESIDENT IN THE SAID PARISH BUT WHO HAVE MOVED OUTSIDE THE PARISH FOR EXAMPLE BECAUSE THEY HAVE MOVED INTO A HOME FOR THE ELDERLY. 26.2 IN CARRYING OUT THE PURPOSE IN 26.1 ABOVE THE TRUSTEES MAY RELIEVE POVERTY BY: • GRANTS OF MONEY (INCLUDING LOANS) E.G. SPECIAL PAYMENTS TO RELIEVE SICKNESS OR INFIRMITY • PROVISION OF ITEMS E.G. HOUSEHOLD ITEMS, FOOD, FUEL, HEATING • PROVISION OF SERVICES E.G. ESSENTIAL HOUSE REPAIRS, MEALS ON WHEELS, CLEANING, ESSENTIAL UTILITIES • PROVISION OF FACILITIES E.G. SUPPLY OF TOOLS OR BOOKS OR COMPUTER EQUIPMENT INTENDED TO BRING THE QUALITY OF LIFE OF THE BENEFICIARIES TO A REASONABLE STANDARD • OTHER PRACTICAL WAYS OF ASSISTING PEOPLE IN POVERTY
