Charitable objects
THE OBJECTS CLAUSE WILL NOT CHANGE. IT IS THE 'AREA OF BENEFIT' WHICH THE TRUSTEES WOULD LIKE TO CHANGE. THE HIST TRUSTEES ARE SEEKING PERMISSION FROM THE CHARITY COMMISSION TO WIDEN THE AREA OF BENEFIT FOR ALMSHOUSE APPLICATIONS. THE CURRENT AREA OF BENEFIT IS HALLATON AND THE SURROUNDING NEIGHBOURHOOD WHICH EXTENDS TO TUGBY AND EAST NORTON DUE TO THE INCLUSION OF THE KATHERINE PARKER CHARITY. THE TRUSTEES SUGGEST EXTENDING THE AREA OF BENEFIT TO WITHIN 5 MILES OF HALLATON WHICH WOULD ENCOMPASS A WIDER RANGE OF VILLAGES. TO PROMOTE SUCH CHARITABLE PURPOSES FOR THE BENEFIT OF INHABITANTS OF THE AREA OF BENEFIT, AS THE TRUSTEES THINK FIT, AND IN PARTICULAR BY (1) THE PROVISION AND MAINTENANCE OF THE ALMSHOUSES; (2) THE PROVISION AND MAINTENANCE OF THE VILLAGE HALL AND RECREATIONAL GROUND, AND (3) THE RELIEF OF POVERTY, BY THE PROMOTION OF EDUCATION, THE PROMOTION OF RELIGION.
