TO PROMOTE THE WELFARE BY CHARITABLE MEANS OF MEN AND WOMEN WHO HAVE SERVED AND OF THE WIDOWS, CHILDREN AND DEPENDANTS OF THOSE WHO HAVE SERVED IN OUR NAVY, ARMY, AIR FORCE OF AUXILIARY FORCES OR IN THE MERCANTILE MARINE DURING HOSTILITIES AFLOAT OR IN A RED CROSS ORGANISATION WHILST SERVING WITH OUR ARMED FORCES; AND TO PROMOTE ASSIST, SOLICIT, COMBINE AND ENSIRE OTHER OBJECTS DEFINED IN THE ROYAL BRITISH LEGION CHARTER OF INCORPORATION.
