THE PROVISION OF GRANTS, WHETHER ANNUAL OR OTHERWISE, TO NURSES FORMALLY EMPLOYED BY THE ASSOCIATION OR ONE OF THE AFFILIATED DISTRICT NURSING ASSOCIATIONS IN ESSEX, IN CASES WHERE ADEQUATE PROVISION IS NOT AVAILABLE FROM OTHER SOURCES FOR THEIR MAINTENANCE AND TO ASSIST NURSES FORMALLY EMPLOYED BY THE ASSOCIATION OR ONE OF THE DISTRICT NURSING ASSOCIATIONS, IN CASES OF HARDSHIP OR SICKNESS. 2. FOR THE GENERAL BENEFIT OF SICK PERSONS IN THE COUNTY OF ESSEX. 3. THE PROVISION OF GRANTS FOR PERSONS TO ENABLE THEM TO QUALIFY AS NURSES FOR THE COUNTY OF ESSEX
