Activities - how the charity spends its money
The aims of the Charity are to relieve poverty by the provision of social housing in the form of almshouse accommodation for the beneficiaries and such charitable purposes for the benefit of the residents as the trustees decide. The Charity owns three almshouses in the parish of Longford, Ashbourne which provide accommodation for local residents. The properties are currently fully occupied.

Charitable objects
OBJECTS OF THE CHARITY (1) THE OBJECTS OF THE CHARITY ARE: (A) THE RELIEF OF POVERTY BY THE PROVISION OF SOCIAL HOUSING IN THE FORM OF ALMSHOUSE ACCOMMODATION FOR BENEFICIARIES; AND (B) SUCH CHARITABLE PURPOSES FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE RESIDENTS AS THE TRUSTEES DECIDE. (C) THE TRUSTEES MAY ALSO MAKE A PAYMENT OF NOT MORE THAN £10 PER YEAR TO THE RECTOR FOR THE TIME BEING OF THE ECCLESIASTICAL PARISH OF LONGFORD ST CHAD IN CONSIDERATION OF MINISTRATIONS TO THE BENEFICIARIES. “BENEFICIARIES” MEANS POOR PEOPLE WHO ARE RESIDENT IN OR WHO HAVE A STRONG CONNECTION TO THE AREA OF BENEFIT. (2) SUBJECT TO THE PROVISIONS OF CLAUSE 5 (POWER TO DISPOSE OF AND REPLACE PURPOSE PROPERTY), THE LAND IDENTIFIED IN PART 1 OF THE SCHEDULE TO THIS SCHEME MUST BE RETAINED BY THE TRUSTEES FOR USE FOR THE OBJECTS OF THE CHARITY.
