Charitable objects

THE TRUSTEES SHALL APPLY THE INCOME AND, AT THEIR DISCRETION, THE WHOLE OR ANY PART OF THE PROPERTY OF THE CHARITY IN RELIEVING EITHER GENERALLY OR INDIVIDUALLY PERSONS RESIDENT IN THE AREA OF BENEFIT WHO ARE IN CONDITIONS OF NEED, HARDSHIP OR DISTRESS BY MAKING GRANTS OF MONEY OR PROVIDING OR PAYING FOR ITEMS, SERVICES OR FACILITIES CACULATED TO REDUCE THE NEED, HARDSHIP OR DISTRESS OF SUCH PERSONS: PROVIDED THAT PREFERENCE SHALL BE GIVEN TO PERSONS QUALIFIED AS AFORESAID WHO ARE OR HAVE BEEN MINERS OR THE DEPENDANTS OF SUCH MINERS.
