TO PROMOTE AND ASSIST THE GENERAL GOOD OR ALL OLD PEOPLE IN THE URBAN DISTRICT OF THORNTON CLEVELEYS BY ASSISTING THE WORK OF STATUTORY AUTHORITIES AND VOLUNTARY ORGANISATIONS ENGAGED IN PROVIDING FACILITIES FOR PHYSICAL AND MENTAL RECREATION, RELIEVING POVERTY, DISTRESS OR SICKNESS ETC.
