Charitable objects
1. THE TRUSTEES SHALL APPLY 2% OF THE INCOME OF THE CHARITY OR SUCH SUM AS THE COMMISSIONERS APPROVE FROM TIME TO TIME IN RELIEVING GENERALLY OR INDIVIDUALLY PERSONS WHO ARE IN CONDITIONS OF NEED, HARDSHIP OR DISTRESS BY MAKING GRANTS OF MONEY OR PROVIDING OR PAYING FOR ITEMS, SERVICES OR FACILITIES CALCULATED TO REDUCE THE NEED, HARDSHIP OR DISTRESS OF SUCH PERSONS WITH PREFERENCE FOR SUCH PERSONS WHO ARE RESIDENT IN THE BOROUGH OF KENDAL. 2. APPLY THE RESIDUE OF SUCH INCOME FOR SUCH CHARITABLE PURPOSES AS THE TRUSTEES THINK FIT.
