Charitable objects
ALMSHOUSES FOR POOR PERSONS OF GOOD CHARACTER AND OF NOT LESS THAN SIXTY YEARS OF AGE, WHO FROM AGE, ILL-HEALTH, ACCIDENT OR INFIRMITY ARE WHOLLY OR IN PART UNABLE TO MAINTAIN THEMSELVES BY THEIR OWN EXERTIONS AND WHO (EXCEPT IN SPECIAL CASES TO BE APPROVED BY THE COMMISSIONERS) ARE RESIDENT IN THE CITY OF KINGSTON UPON HULL AT THE TIME OF APPOINTMENT. PREFERENCE SHAL BE GIVEN TO PERSONS IN THE FOLLOWING ORDER OF PRIORITY. 1. PERSONS OF THE JEWISH FAITH, PROVIDED THAT THE NUMBER OF SUCH PERSONS IN RESIDENCE AT ANY ONE TIME SHALL NOT EXCEED ONE-THIRD OF THE TOTAL NUMBER OF ALMSPEOPLE IN RESIDENCE. 2. PERSONS WHO HAVE BEEN LONGEST RESIDENT IN THE SAID CITY.
