Charitable objects
TO PROVIDE FOR, ASSIST, PROMOTE, ENCOURAGE, IMPROVE AND EXTEND WITHIN THE AREA OF THE SOUTH WESTERN HOSPITAL REGION CONSTITUTED UNDER THE NATIONAL HEALTH SERVICE ACT 1946 AND ELSEWHERE AS THE COUNCIL MAY DETERMINE THE TREATMENT, NURSING AND CARE OF PERSONS WHO ARE SICK, INFIRM OR SUFFERING FROM DISEASES, AILMENTS OR PHYSICAL DEFECTS OF ANY KIND, TO FURNISH AND GIVE INFORMATION AND ADVICE TO AND PROVIDE AMENITIES AND SOCIAL AND DOMESTIC SERVICES AND ASSISTANCE FOR SUCH PERSONS, EITHER WHILST UNDER TREATMENT IN HOSPITALS, INFIRMARIES, CONVALESCENT HOMES, NURSING HOMES, DISPENSARIES, OR OTHER MEDICAL INSTITUTIONS OR AFTER DISCHARGE THEREFROM OR WITHOUT THEIR HAVING BEEN ADMITTED THERETO, AND IN PARTICULAR (BUT WITHOUT LIMITING THE GENERALITY OF THE FOREGOING) TO SUPPORT AND ASSIST FINANCIALLY OR OTHERWISE ANY SUCH MEDICAL INSTITUTIONS AS AFORESAID; TO ESTABLISH, MAINTAIN AND OPERATE CONVALESCENT HOMES; TO PROVIDE OR PROMOTE OR ASSIST FINANCIALLY OR OTHERWISE THE PROVISION OF SURGICAL, OPTICAL, DENTAL AND HEARING AID APPLIANCES FOR ANY SUCH PERSONS AND DOMESTIC HELP DURING CONVALESCENCE AND RECUPERATION, AND IN SUITABLE CASES TO PROVIDE OR CONTRIBUTE TOWARDS THE REASONABLE EXPENSES OF TRAVEL AND ACCOMMODATION FOR VISITORS TO PERSONS UNDER TREATMENT IN ANY SUCH MEDICAL INSTITUTION AS AFORESAID WHO COULD NOT OTHERWISE AFFORD TO INCUR SUCH EXPENSES AND TO DO OTHER THINGS SPECIFIED IN SUB-CLAUSES (2) TO (25) INCLUSIVE OF THIS CLAUSE TO PROMOTE AND ENCOURAGE THE PRESERVATION OF GOOD HEALTH AND THE PREVENTION OR AVOIDANCE OF SICKNESS, DISEASE AND INFIRMITY AMONGST PERSONS RESIDING IN THE SAID REGION OR ELSEWHERE AS THE COUNCIL MAY DETERMINE, BY SUCH MEANS AS MAY BE CONSIDERED ADVISABLE AND IN PARTICULAR (BUT WITHOUT LIMITING THE GENERALITY OF THE FOREGOING) BY ESTABLISHING AND MAINTAINING, OR PROMOTING AND ASSISTING FINANCIALLY OR OTHERWISE THE ESTABLISHMENT AND MAINTENANCE OF INDUSTRIAL REST HOUSES, HEALTH CENTRES, COMMUNITY CENTRES AND OTHER LIKE INSTITUTIONS
