FOUNDED AT MEETING OF EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE 21ST SEPTEMBER 1944 AND SCHEME OF 20TH MAY 1983 AS AMENDED BY SCHEME OF 19TH MAY 1988 as amended on 19 Aug 2024
Charitable objects
Assisting the following categories of persons, who are in need, hardship or distress, by providing such persons with financial or other relief according to their present needs: (1) Persons resident in the London Borough of Merton who served in the Armed Forces of the Crown, the Navy, Army and Air Force Institutes (including the Expeditionary Force Institutes), the Merchant Navy and Fishing Fleets, the Women’s Land Army, the Civil Defence Services, the National Fire Service, the Civil Nursing Reserve and/or other Nursing Organisations; and/or who were affected by the Ministry of Labour or National Service Orders directing them into industry; and/or the dependents of such persons. (2) Persons resident in the London Borough of Merton who have been resettled in the said Borough following, or on account of, their homelessness, disability, refugee or asylum-seeker status or suffering of domestic abuse.
