Charitable objects
(1) THE RELIEF OF PERSONS IN NEED, HARDSHIP OR DISTRESS WHO ARE EITHER (A) PERSONS WHO ARE SERVING OR HAVE SERVED IN THE REGIMENT; OR (B) THE CHILDREN OR DEPENDANTS (WHETHER OR NOT RE-MARRIED) OF ANY SUCH PERSON (WHETHER ALIVE OR DEAD) (2) IF AND IS SO FAR AS THE INCOME AND PROPERTY OF THE CHARITY CANNOT BE APPLIED TOWARDS THE OBJECT SPECIFIED IN CLAUSE 4(1) ABOVE, THE TRUSTEES MAY APPLY IT FOR CHARITABLE PURPOSES IN CONNECTION WITH THE REGIMENT AND IN PARTICULAR; (A) IN PROMOTING THE EFFICIENCY OF THE REGIMENT AND MAINTAINING ITS TRADITIONS AND ESPRIT DE CORPS; (B) IN MAKING GRANTS TOWARDS THE MAINTENANCE OF THE REGIMENTAL CHAPEL IN THE CATHEDRAL CHURCH OF ST PETER, YORK AND IN HELPING TOWARDS RESTORING THE CATHEDRAL GLASS, THE MAINTENANCE OF A SIDE CHAPEL IN THE PARISH CHURCH OF THE ECCLESIASTICAL PARISH OF ST JOHN THE BAPTIST, HALIFAX AND THE MAINTENANCE OF ANY OTHER CHAPEL OR CHURCH WHICH, IN THE OPINION OF THE TRUSTEES, HAS A CONNECTION WITH THE REGIMENT
