1. TO ENCOURAGE HIGH STANDARDS OF ARCHITECTURE AND PLANNING IN MARPLE AND DISTRICT 2. TO STIMULATE PUBLIC INTEREST IN AND CARE FOR THE BEAUTY, HISTORY AND CHARACTER OF MARPLE AND THE SURROUNDING AREAS 3. TO ENCOURAGE THE PRESERVATION, DEVELOPMENT AND IMPROVEMENT OF THE FEATURES WHICH CONTRIBUTE TO PLEASANT AND CONVENIENT PLACES IN WHICH TO LIVE AND WORK. 4. TO PURSUE THESE OBJECTS BY MEANS OF MEETINGS, EXHIBITIONS, LECTURES, PUBLICATIONS AND OTHER PROMOTIONAL METHODS AND BY COOPERATION WITH OTHER LOCAL AND NATIONAL ORGANISATIONS AND INDIVIDUALS
