The Order fulfils its principal aims through (a) formation, training and continuing education and the promotion of vocations to the Priesthood and religious life (Vocations Promotions) and (b) by prayer and pastoral work in parishes. The work includes teaching, preaching, retreat-giving, chaplaincy in schools and hospitals, and care of the elderly.

Charitable objects
UPON TRUST TO APPLY THE SAME AS CAPITAL OR INCOME FOR SUCH CHARITABLE PURPOSES AS SHALL ADVANCE THE RELIGIOUS AND OTHER CHARITABLE WORK OF THE ENGLISH PROVINCE OF THE SOCIETY AS THE TRUSTEES WITH THE APPROVAL OF THE SUPERIOR SHALL FROM TIME TO TIME THINK FIT BUT IF AT ANY TIME THE SOCIETY SHALL CEASE TO EXIST OR SHALL CEASE TO CARRY ON RELIGIOUS OR OTHER CHARITABLE WORK IN SUCH PROVINCE THEN FOR SUCH OTHER LAWFUL CHARITABLE PURPOSES CONNECTED WITH THE ADVANCEMENT OF THE ROMAN CATHOLIC RELIGION AS THE TRUSTEES SHALL DETERMINE.
