TO PROVIDE COMFORTS EITHER IN CASH OR KIND FOR THE RELIEF OF AGED POOR AND LONELY PERSONS RESIDING WITHIN THE BOROUGH OF CHRISTCHURCH AND SUCH PARTS OF THE SURROUNDING DISTRICT AS ARE INCLUDED IN THE MEMBERSHIP AREA OF THE CLUB AND TO MAKE CONTRIBUTIONS TO OTHER CHARITABLE AND BENEVOLENT ORGANISATIONS DIRECTED TO THE PUBLIC BENEFIT AS SHALL FROM TIME TO TIME BE RECONGNISED FOR SUPPORT BY THE COUNCIL FOR THE TIME BEING OF THE CHRISTCHURCH ROTARY CLUB.
