Charitable objects

THE COLLECTION OF BOOKS COMPRISING THE ENDOWMENT OF THE LIBRARY SHALL BE DEPOSITED WITH THE UNIVERSITY OF BIRMINGHAM, AND MAY BE USED BY THE UNIVERSITY PROVIDED THAT: (I) THE BOOKS SHALL BE HELD AVAILABLE FOR GRATUITOUS CONSULTATION FOR THE USE OF THE CLERGY AND OTHER RESPECTABLE INHABITANTS AS A PUBLIC LIBRARY; (II) THE BOOKS SHALL BE KEPT SAFE AND UNHARMED AND IN GOOD CONDITION.
