Activities - how the charity spends its money
The object of the charity is the relief of persons in need who are elderly, sick, convalescent, disabled or infirm. The trustees relieve those eligible for assistance by making grants of money to enable or assist them to obtain accommodation, rest or respite which they could not otherwise afford. They also provide grants to carers of such people to enable or to assist them to obtain respite.

IN FURTHERANCE OF THIS OBJECT THE TRUSTEES MAY HAVE REGARD TO THE CRITERIA AS FOLLOWS: THE TRUSTEES MAY HAVE REGARD TO PERSONS WHO IN THE OPINION OF THE TRUSTEES REQUIRE OR ARE LIKELY TO DERIVE BENEFIT FROM A PERIOD SPENT, WHETHER TEMPORARY OR PERMANENT, IN QUIET AND BEAUTIFUL SURROUNDINGS AND WHOSE MEANS ARE INSUFFICIENT TO ENABLE THEM TO PROVIDE THESE ADVANTAGES FOR THEMSELVES AND IN PARTICULAR FOR PERSONS WHO ARE SUFFERING FROM OVERWORK OR NERVOUS BREAKDOWN OR ANY OTHER FORM OF ILL HEALTH LIKELY TO BE BENEFITED FROM REST AND QUIET INCLUDING ANY PERSONS WHO ARE ENGAGED IN ANY LITERARY ARTISTIC OR SCIENTIFIC WORK REQUIRING QUIET SURROUNDINGS AND FREEDOM FROM INTERRUPTION AND DISTURBANCE.
