TO PROMOTE THE MORE EFFECTIVE ADMINISTRATION OF THE LAW BY REWARDING PERSONS NOT BEING REGULAR OR ANCILIARY MEMBERS OF THE AVON AND SOMERSET CONSTABULARY WHO IN THE OPINION OF THE TRUSTEES HAVE PERFORMED MERITORIOUS SERVICE IN SUPPORT OF LAW AND ORDER IN THE COUNTIES OF AVON AND SOMERSET.
