TO APPLY DURING A TERM OF 20 YEARS THE CAPITAL AND INCOME OF THE TRUST FUND FOR SUCH CHARITABLE PURPOSES AS THE SETTLOR OR HIS SON IN THE EVENT OF THE FORMER'S DEATH OR INCAPACITY MAY FROM TIME TO TIME DIRECT. IN THE EVENT OF DEFAULT OF SUCH DIRECTION INCOME TO BE EQUALLY DIVIDED BETWEEN SCHEDULED CHARITIES AT THE END OF THE PERIOD OF 20 YEARS TO PAY ANY REMAINING CAPITAL OR INCOME FOR THE NATIONAL TRUST FOR PLACES OF HISTORIC BEAUTY
