TO FOSTER AND PROMOTE THE MAINTENANCE, IMPROVEMENT AND DEVELOPMENT OF ARTISTIC TASTES AND KNOWLEDGE UNDERSTANDING AND APPRECIATION OF THE FINE ARTS AND DRAMATIC ART AMONG THE INHABITANTS OF THE COUNTIES OF LANCASHIRE, WEST YORKSHIRE AND NORTH YORKSHIRE ADJACENT TO THE MID-PENNINE RANGE.
