TO ADVANCE THE CHRISTIAN RELIGION AMONG MEN AND WOMEN OF THE ROYAL NAVY AND ROYAL MARINES AND THEIR FAMILIES BY ASSISTING THE ARCHDEACON FOR THE ROYAL NAVY BY THE PROVISION OF SUITABLY QUALIFIED LICENSED READERS (KNOWN IN THE SOCIETY AS READERS) AND IN SUCH OTHER WAYS AS THE COMMITTEE OF THE SOCIETY SHALL DETERMINE FROM TIME TO TIME.
