TO ADVANCE THE STUDY OF FURNITURE OF ALL PERIODS, PLACES AND KINDS, AND TO FURTHER PUBLIC KNOWLEDGE AND APPRECIATION OF IT. THE SOCIETY SHALL ASSIST AS FAR AS POSSIBLE IN THE PRESERVATION OF FURNITURE AND OF ITS RECORDS FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT.
