THE SOCIETY IS INSTITUTED SOLELY FOR THE ADVANCEMENT OF THE SCIENCE OF BIOPHYSICS, THAT IS, THE STUDY OF THE FUNCTIONING AND STRUCTURE OF LIVING ORGANISMS VIEWED FROM A PHYSICAL STANDPOINT AND THE APPLICATION OF PHYSICAL AND PHYSICO-CHEMICAL TECHNIQUES TO BIOLOGICAL PROBLEMS.
