THE BENEFIT EITHER OF THE POOR GENERALLY OF THE ISLE OF WIGHT OR OF SUCH DESERVING AND NECESSITOUS PERSONS RESIDENT THEREIN AS THE TRUSTEES SELECT FOR THIS PURPOSE AND IN SUCH A WAY AS THEY CONSIDER MOST ADVANTAGEOUS TO THE RECIPIENTS AND MOST CONDUCIVE TO THE FORMATION OFPROVIDENT HABITS ANDS FOR THE PROTECTION AND BENEFIT OF THE PREVENTION OF CRUELTY TO ANIMALS IN THE SAID ISLAND. ALLOWANCES TO PERSONS WHO HAVE ATTAINED THE AGE OF SICTY YEARS AND BECOME WHOLLY OR IN PART UNABLE TO MAINTAIN THEMSELVES BY THEIR OWN EXERTIONS.
