INDENTURE DATED 5TH JULY 1872, SCHEME OF 30TH DECEMBER 1938, AND SCHEMES OF 23RD SEPTEMBER 1969 AND 19TH MARCH 1982 AND 19TH SEPTEMBER 2001.
Charitable objects
(1) IN OR TOWARDS THE ESTABLISHMENT AND MAINTENANCE OF A THEOLOGICAL COLLEGE FOR THE EDUCATION OF CANDIDATES FOR THE MINISTRY IN THE CONGREGATIONAL CHURCHES OF ENGLAND AND WALES OR IN THE ESTABLISHMENT OF EXHIBITIONS IN ANY SUCH THEOLOGICAL COLLEGE NOW IN EXISTENCE OR HEREAFTER TO BE ESTABLISHED OR FOR THE TRAINING AND EDUCATION OF MISSIONARIES IN CONNECTION WITH THE SAID CONGREGATIONS CHURCHES. (2) IN OR TOWARDS THE LIQUIDATION OR REDUCTION OF DEBTS FOR THE TIME BEING CHARGED UPON OR PAYABLE OUT OF THE INCOME OF ANY CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH IN ENGLAND OR WALES. (3) IN OR TOWARDS THE AUGMENTATION OF THE SALARY OR STIPEND OF ANY CONGREGATIONAL MINISTER OR MINISTERS IN ENGLAND AND WALES. (4) IN OR TOWARDS THE BUILDING REBUILDING OR REPAIR OF ANY CHAPEL OR CHAPELS IN ENGLAND AND WALES BELONGING TO THE SAID CONGREGATIONAL CHURCHES OR OF ANY SCHOOL OR RELIGIOUS OR PHILANTHROPIC INSTITUTION CONNECTED THEREWITH. (5) IN OR TOWARDS SUCH OTHER OBJECTS OF A RELIGIOUS LITERARY OR PHILANTHROPIC CHARACTER AS THE TRUSTEES SHALL APPROVE AS CALCULATED IN THEIR JUDGEMENT TO PROMOTE THE BEST WELFARE OF THE MEMBERS OF THE CONGREGATIONAL CHURCHES IN ENGLAND OR WALES OR ANY PART OR PARTS THEREOF SO THAT NO PORTION THEREOF SHALL BE APPLIED OR APPLICABLE TO ANY OBJECT FOR THE SUPPORT OR ENCOURAGEMENT OF WHICH THE USE OF THE HALL IS HEREINBEFORE EXPRESSLY PROHIBITED.
