THE FUND IS ESTABLISHED FOR THE PURPOSES OF PROVIDING BY VOLUNTARY CONTRIBUTIONS, OR OTHERWISE, A FUND, OR FUNDS, OUT OF WHICH THE COMMITTEE OF MANAGEMENT (HEREINAFTER CALLED "THE COMMITTEE") MAY IN THEIR SOLE UNFETTERED DISCRETION AFFORD ASSISTANCE TO NEEDY AND DESERVING MEMBERS OR FORMER MEMBERS OF THE INSTITUTION OR SOCIETY OR THE WIVES, WIDOWS, HUSBANDS, WIDOWERS, CHILDREN OR THE DEPENDANTS OF SUCH MEMBERS OR FORMER MEMBERS RESIDENT IN THE UNITED KINGDOM ONLY.
