Charitable objects
(1) THE OBJECT OF THE CHARITY IS TO ASSIST (BY WAY OF GRANTS) BENEFICIARIES WHO ARE IN FINANCIAL NEED AND WHO WISH TO EMIGRATE, OR ARE CONSIDERING EMIGRATING, TO NEW ZEALAND OR OVERSEAS BUT WOULD OTHERWISE BE UNABLE TO AFFORD TO VISIT OR MOVE TO THOSE COUNTRIES. (2) IF AND IN SO FAR AS THE INCOME OF THE CHARITY CANNOT BE USED TOWARDS THE OBJECT SPECIFIED IN CLAUSE (1) ABOVE, THE TRUSTEES MAY APPLY IT IN PROVIDING SCHOLARSHIPS, BURSARIES AND MAINTENANCE GRANTS TO BENEFICIARIES WHO ARE: (A) UNDER THE AGE OF 25; (B) IN NEED; AND (C) EITHER: (I) ATTENDING, OR INTEND TO ATTEND, A RECOGNISED EDUCATIONAL OR VOCATIONAL INSTITUTION IN NEW ZEALAND OR OVERSEAS FOR AN APPROVED COURSE OF STUDY; OR (II) UNDERTAKING, OR INTEND TO UNDERTAKE, ORGANISED WORK EXPERIENCE IN NEW ZEALAND OR OVERSEAS OF A KIND RELEVANT TO THEIR INTENDED CAREER. (III) THE EDUCATIONAL OR WORK EXPERIENCE IN ITEMS (I) AND (II) SHALL BE INTENDED TO PROVIDE A LASTING LIFE CHANGING OR LIFE ENHANCING EXPERIENCE (3) IN APPLYING THE INCOME THE TRUSTEES MAY TAKE ACCOUNT OF THE WISHES OF THE ORIGINAL FOUNDER THAT THE PERSONS HELPED SHOULD BE OF GOOD CHARACTER AND REPUTE AND MAY GIVE REFERENCE TO APPLICATIONS FROM PERSONS RESIDENT OR FORMERLY RESIDENT IN THE PARISHES OF LYDNEY OR AYLBURTON. ALL APPLICATIONS SHALL BE IN WRITTEN FORM EITHER HAND OR BY ELECTRONIC MEANS.
