TO RELIEVE THE DISTRESS AND SUFFERING EXPERIENCED BY WOMEN WHO HAVE BEEN GREATLY OF PERSISTENTLY MALTREATED, PHYSICALLY, EMOTIONALLY, FINANCIALLY OR SEXUALLY BY THEIR PARTNERS, FAMILY MEMBERS OR BY THE FATHERS OF THEIR CHILDREN AND ANY CHILDREN OF SUCH WOMEN PROVIDED THAT SUCH WOMEN ARE IN NECESSITOUS CIRCUMSTANCES
